Wow! I used SRWare Iron (on Windows XP years ago)! I never thought about Comodo or IceWeasel. Thanks.

Still can't deal with Firefox (I used to love it until it got heavier). Chromium actually runs much lighter. wattOS is about Light, Fast and Now!

I have looked for info about TENS. There is nothing negative I can find anywhere. Where did you find information? I maintain a live CD is more secure than an installed system.

i3 Gaps does look promising. I'll bet it's a booger to customize.

My only concern with TENS is that it has Firefox browser in it. Firefox is going the way of Chrome in that it "phones home to mama." I quit using it. I use Chromium. Brave browser is pretty good too.

CharlieK, you have my attention. I like this idea! I too, am very security minded and do everything (including using TENS) I can to be as secure as possible.

They almost never wipe or remove hard drive! Most will not make the effort to learn how.

I'll never forget the day my husband, who was running Windows XP at the time, said to me, "Put that Linux stuff on my computer." He has never looked back. And his pc came from the dump too! We are both running wattOS R10.

Hi blaze, be sure to check the permissions for every app you install. Some apps want access to your phone numbers. I also disable or uninstall all apps I don't use. There is a way to hibernate apps you cannot uninstall so they won't run in background and suck up the battery. Maybe time for a new topic, "Let's make Android lighter and faster."

Thankfully, I was able to reinstall the old Ghostery Browser. I turned off the automatic updates on my phone. So far it still works. Via is good browser. Also the Private Browser by Tabero is very light and works well.

Did you get VLC installed?

Read this thread: http://planetwatt.com/newforum/index.php?topic=917.0.
Excerpt from thread: All I had to do was go to: "Software & Updates" > "Updates tab" and check "Recommended Updates (Xenial-Updates)".
Update your system and try VLC again.

I've been trying to find a browser that works for 32 bit that does not make the cpu fan go nuts. Will check out Opera.
