Hi Cheiron! Your video was NOT BORING! I loved it. I also love that you put watt rock on desktop. (I did too) Mine won't keep up with yours, but wattOS B1 runs very well on my old clunker too. M2N-SLI motherboard, AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core 4600+ processor, 8 GB ram with  AMD Radeon HD 5670 graphics card. Glad you were able to list all the things that need to be fixed. I did not get successful install of wine from regular repositories. Today, I will try again with WineHQ repository. Wish me luck!

I so enjoyed this (and I have sorely missed wattOS)! May I share on Facebook? Now I can see the wattOS page, that needs updating too...

Yes, put in wattOS! I am using Lubuntu 18.04 on imac 11,2 at work (I am typesetter at Bradford County Telegraph). I used the entire drive for Lubuntu. It works great! Be sure to put in some kind of fan control... You may have to disable ivp6 to get decent download speed or enable it in router. If you use wine, there are workarounds for that too. If you need a decent office program, I use FreeOffice 2018. There's more I can't think of right now.

@veggie, I like the idea of rolling release. However LXDE is not supported anymore...Maybe go with XFCE?

Hi Biff,
Glad you are OK. My needs on computer are to use a light weight as possible system and still have LXDE.
I am using an old business computer, Intel Core Quad CPU Q6700 @ 2.66 GHz, 8 Gb ram and AMD Cedar graphics.
I just need Chromium and I add all the rest.

At work I use FreeOffice 2018, Gimage Reader, Iscan, Recoll, Gimp and Chromium on iMac 11,2, 4 Gb ram. It would
be nice to have the fan control actually work properly. A fellow employee allowed my work computer to overheat...will
be changing hard drive this weekend.

General Discussion / Re: How Secure is Wattos after end of life

If you want to keep using wattOS R9, I suggest you DO NOT MAKE ANY ONLINE PURCHASES, NO ONLINE BANKING and set your browser to "Keep local data only until you quit your browser." Please make sure your firewall is on!

It doesn't take long to install wattOS R10... You have to do clean install, you cannot upgrade to wattOS R10.

Good luck!

I've been trying out the mini iso for Ubuntu with LXDE. It gets me just what I need and I add what I want. Security in the browser depends on one's own preferences. I block third party cookies, use HTTPS Everywhere and a tracker/ad blocker.
