Release of jessie approaches about Debian.
This was "testing" until recently.

https://wiki.debian.org/DebianJessie

Please be careful about wattOS R9 acting as above.
This influences Debian base Linux distribution.
(CrunchBang is included in this)

Hi all,

Nothing wrong with spirited discussion as long as we keep it on topic :)

I can safely say R9 will not be based on Sid. I am currently testing Jessie, and expect some meaningful feedback on that over the holiday weekend as I get 5 days in a row back at the wattOS world HQ labs and not on the road :) - also if you feel frisky after eating and watching football (those of you in the US) feel free to jump on IRC as I will have it up a lot this weekend..

Is there any chance that an Update Manager (properly translated of course) similar to that in Mint could be included?

Soon all questions will be answered :)

the update manager is always a goal if I can get something lightweight and simple without pulling in a ton of overhead (extra packages and bloat).

Versions and basic info should be out in the next 2-3 days regarding types of DE and flavors....

tks,
biff

Pale Moon for Linux Browser

Multi-Pane File Manager with better Archive Manager integration (e.g. Xarchiver wouldn't include .img files in an Archive)

An Archive Manager that includes a pane for viewing Folders in a Treeview. This feature does not function in the version of file-roller that can be installed in LXDE R8.

Pale Moon browser is NOT a newbie friendly installation, unless you want to post STEP BY STEP  instructions...

Pale Moon browser is NOT a newbie friendly installation, unless you want to post STEP BY STEP  instructions...

It can be done manually, step by step, and there are instructions on the web that explain just that but there is also a User Friendly installer that can be downloaded from the following page.

Pale Moon for Linux Installer

I have used the installer for Pale Moon 25.1 32-bit for the old PC I am renovating. It worked fine.
