USB Install Hangs
« on: July 29, 2017, 04:14:29 AM »
I want to love this distro- very nice from live image with no cruft.
Problem is, I cannot get the install to get beyond "creating user home" or some such thing. It just hangs and that's that. I made the original USB using UNetBootin on a mac. There are some incompatibilities with other distributions using that, so I re-imaged the USB drive using command line dd tools. Both USB images booted fine, and I have No proprietary hardware on my libre x200.
Anybody got any ideas? I've been distro-hopping a bit lately, so I've done many installs and never with a problem like this.

Trying the "micro" i3 edition, I have not downloaded the other. md5 sums are ok.
Thanks!

Re: USB Install Hangs- Resolved, kinda

Issue Resolved, although I'm not sure why.

I did two things differently, so I'm not sure which resolved the issue.
1) I re-imaged the USB (third time) using a laptop with Debian installed.
2) I did Not select to have my /home folder encrypted.

I'm inclined to believe that the /home encryption was the problem, as the installer hung during creation of user. Furthermore, the prior USB images seemed to work as live distributions, and both hung at exactly the same point of installation.
