Replacement/alternative for Remastersys
« on: June 17, 2015, 05:04:22 PM »
I have previously installed R6 on several computers, for myself & friends, and I particularly valued the program Remastersys. I understand that this is no longer developed, and isn't available in any repositories any more. Are there similar programs available? I'm keen to install & customise WattOS R9, and would like to be able to make backups. Thanks.

The early posts in the thread below aren't as useful as the later ones, so do keep reading :

It's a 2014 topic, so shouldn't be too far out of date.

Hope that works for you.

Hi all,

I have included the last working version of remastersys on R9. I had to tweak it slightly to make i work, and I have talked directly with the dev for it over the last few years (fragadelic), so its not new to me, and I know he has his reasons for stopping, but it works surprisingly well and is the command line only version.  So if you have the desire, it works. If I can continue to tweak it for the versions going forward, I will without the drama and press (you know who I am talking about likely)

When I get some time, I will post some basics on the wiki that shows how to use the command line version.

tks,
