Overburn-wattOS-R10

Hello,
I am using Linux and am unable to overburn the wattOS-R10-32.iso image.

I have tried using Xburn, K3b, and Brasero.
All of these programs will NOT overburn the 710mb image to a cd.

If is super important that I use a CDR as these old computers I'm donating to friends in need,
don't have DVD drives.  I think this is a HUGE oversight of most of the Linux distros out there for older computers. Not to mention DVD drives when they get older are a lot more flaky.  Good to see you are still trying to keep the size reasonable.  Is there any possible way to trim some application(s) from the ISO.  I tried looking into the ISO and couldn't see any filesystem with items in there to safely remove, and eliminate the overburn headache.

Hi brianb and welcome to the wattOS forums.

When it comes to removing files from the iso itself, you better have patience and wait for someone who knows more about that than I do. Sorry.

Two questions though. Is installation from usb possible? And is another brand of cds an alternative? Or, could it be possible to connect these old computers to a removable cd/dvd station via usb? By the way, what kind of brand are they, and which specs...just curious. Ooooops, sorry that is four questions.

If removing files from the iso is your only option, may I suggest that you change the title of the thread. Good luck!

Make sure the BIOS boots the cd rom first. Use the PLOP Boot Manager burned to cd, so you can boot from the usb. Use UNetbootin to put image on usb drive (if you are using a Linux system, it should be in synaptic). It works on really old computers. This way it does not matter how big the iso is as long as the usb drive can hold it.
