unable to scan

Hello,

I'm new to linux and just installed wattOS R9 32bit on DELL Inspiron 1501 i can print using Canon imageCLASS D530 but unable to scan.
Could you help me with issue?Thanks.

This is the message i get when trying to scan using simple scan: Failed to scan. No scanner available. Please connect scanner.

This solved my Canon printer and scan issues: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/558795/canon-printer-driver-scangear-mp-for-ubuntu-1404/
These are instructions for Ubuntu. You will install the ppa, open synaptic and reload and search for the two programs it says to and install the appropriate drivers for your printer. Then configure from printer in menu. You will have to run scangearmp to run the scanner. Hope this helps, keep me posted.
