wattOS R10 / Keyboard shortcut NUMLOCK opens Screenshot R10 (SOLVED)
« on: January 12, 2017, 06:45:36 PM »
Hi - I have recently installed (and reinstalled...) R10.  I am having an issue where if the NUMLOCK is on and I press one of the arrow keys or delete, Screenshot starts up.  I have searched forums for Lubuntu, Ubuntu, and LXDE.  I have found suggestions to access System Settings and keyboard shortcuts, but, even after installing unity-control-center (which didn't have a section for keyboard), I am not able to figure out where to remove this shortcut key on Watt OS.  Any suggestions?

Thanks Leenie.  I will look into that.  Funny thing is, it detects all my music on the PC just fine.  Just is having problems with the CD.

Hi Leenie - thanks for the reply and sorry I wasn't clear.  This was not a burned CD.  It is an original purchased CD.

wattOS R10 / Lollypop "please unlock your device"
« on: December 29, 2016, 06:50:16 PM »
I am trying to use Lollypop for the first time and have inserted a CD.  When I open Lollypop and click on Audio Disc, I get a message in the right panel that says "Please unlock your device" and it has a picture of an IPOD.  I don't have an IPOD connected to the computer.  I can't figure out how to play and extract CDs.  I have looked at the Lollypop website and couldn't find much info.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Zak

Hey Blaze!  Thanks for the reply.

I had previously used R9 and that had a quick boot and shutdown.  Then I did a clean install and installed R10.

Thanks for the suggestion on the boot log.  Where do I find that?

Hey everyone - glad to have this place to come to for help!

I recently upgraded to R10 and the boot up is really slow.  Shutdown is lightening quick, but boot up is painful.  I have some computer knowledge, but am not an expert.  Does anyone have any ideas on how to speed up the boot process or where to look for problems?

Thanks!
Zak

Hi - is the rock wallpaper from R9 available in R10 in addition to the new rock that R10 has?

wattOS R10 / Re: Wireless not working
« on: October 01, 2016, 04:10:09 AM »
Tonight when I started up the PC, the ethernet is working.  Yea!  One mystery solved, though I don't know what did it.

Regarding the output of lspci, for the wireless, it is Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/G Wireless LAN controller (rev 03).

About wicd, I am trying to install that and I am getting an Error that says:

E: Write error 0 write (28L No space left on device)
E: IO Error saving source cache
E: THe package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

Any thoughts?

Hey Blaze - this is the live distro I am dealing with.  I will try to find some commands and report back.  I would love to install it, but want to make sure things are good first.

Thanks!

Thanks Blaze.  That page has a lot of info on it.  Any suggestions of where to start?

Also, my wired connection isn't working either.  Don't have a problem with R9 with that (or other Live distros I have been testing).  Any suggestions for that?

Thanks!

Hello!  I need some help with the wireless.  I was able to get it working on r9 with b43 and fwcutter (v. 1:018-2), but I am not getting a wireless connection with R10.  Any thoughts on what I could be doing wrong?

Thanks guys.  I was primarily wondering if this message I was getting had a specific fix.  I went ahead and redownloaded it and did a liveUSB with MultiBootusb and all is well.  Thanks!

Hi Bob -

thanks for the quick reply!  I used multiboot in linux.  Works great for R9 and other distros.

One thing I noticed is that after I choose the Live option and get the R10 writing in the middle of the screen, the DVD player gets activated....as if the program is looking for info there.  Not sure if that means anything to anyone, but thought I would add the information.

wattOS R10 / Busybox Initramfs with Live USB
« on: September 25, 2016, 12:21:06 AM »
Hello!  I have been using R9 for a few months and am trying to upgrade to R10 using the same method I used to install R9, a live usb created with Multiboot.  I get to a screen that says R10, but then the next screen shows Busybox and an Initramfs prompt.  I imagine that maybe the image didn't get loaded right to the USB and can download again, but wanted to see if anyone had any other ideas before I do that.

Thanks!
