General Discussion / Re: Phone Browser Wars
« on: November 19, 2017, 09:51:58 AM »
Thanks for the tip leenie, will check it out. Tryyng to get an outdated tablet to work for reading news and Linux forums. ;D Have tried some different browsers with very varying result. Opera mini works badly, so it is usable at some sites. The regular full featured browsers are not compatible with the tablet anymore, like Firefox  :( etc...

Still have to find out exactly how Text Browser works, it sems promising. Wish I have had more experience wtih different text browsers for Linux now.. Have seen this Private Browser in the Play download thingy so it is next on my list. :)

Hi and welcome Khajib! If you are interested in Openbox check out the link provided below. Once you enter the Openbox, it is really hard to get out of it, it is extremely addictive. I also recommend Google if you want to search further.

The right click, is the right click! ;)

Welcome to the forums jan6! I hope you enjoy wattOS. I can understand your frustration, but the world is not a smooth perfect running place. So you have to live with..."or soemthing" I am afraid. Other than that, see answers from me and leenie above. :)

Sorry pezfeo, I do not have a spare hd with the storage volume you probably need. What you need is a new motherboard with six sata connectors ;D

Or seriously, get yourself an external storage disk connected with usb for simple backup and storage. Your very own personal cloud. An alternative for you? :)

Really no need to use such outdated stuff. And DSL is still alive it seems.  :)

Guess so pezfeo, sounds also like you need an external storage disk? It is always good to have a backup! ;D

Hi guys! wattOS is mainly a one man show, and he has a life. So sometimes certain priorities has to be made.

But please ask away if you need assistance, there might be a good idea lurking in the shadows.  8)

Just want to flag the latest release from ArchLabs. It comes with Openbox with LTS kernel for obvioius reasons. For thoe who are a little bit more adventourous thee is also an iso with the regular kernel. Take note that if you want to run it in vbx you need the regular kernel.

This is a distribution that has come quite a long way in a very short period of time. Basiclly it is BunsenLabs ported to Arch, but the ArchLabs dev team have quite a lot of ideas of their own. Very interesting for those of you who are in favor of the Openbox.

General Discussion / Re: The end of 32 bit computing?
« on: October 22, 2017, 08:45:54 AM »
Thanks, good to know. I hope it will be possible to do one for the next LTS release too. I have one 32 bit machine left, and it is kind of reserved for that. And besides my personal reasons, I believe it would be good for wattOS to have a 32bit alternative as long as possible, for obvious reasons. Just my 1 3/4  ;)

No crashing so far, but Midori did not play well, really not at all, with youtube.  :-\

But the fox fix`d that!  ;D

Have you tried any other distro which is targeting old hardware?

For example antiX.

Checking out Midori on a Sparky Openbox install. Debian based, testing. The Midori version here are 0.5.11.

So far nothing to report, but are a bit sceptic. Last time I tried Midori it crashed, crashed, and eventually it crashed again!  ;D
