The 12 iso live session looked really good. Congratulations! I will not do any installation this time around though. Hope to have a closer look at the next one. The freeze of "Bookworm" is coming now and I guess you already are working on it by now. :)

There are some strange behavior going on here at the forum. I am never allowed to read or log in on first try. I have to close the tab and return, works second time around though. Weird.

This phone number thing seems like some kind of weird two-factor authentication is enabled?

And for the consideration about privacy, well I am on the internet. :P

Hi YIP HOI nice to meet you, welcome. :)

@JBHoren if you need 32 bit, and can live with using the Openbox window manager, I recommend you to check out BunsenLabs.

Hi Picus769fr

Good to see that you found your way back. Yes, LXDE is becoming rare, switched for LXQt probably. Therefore it so nice to see that wattOS is back!

heya Blaze! Yeap, we alive and kicking and live once more.. come join us over on discord bud https://discord.com/invite/gzfgJVeytj

Thanks for the invite, we´ll see. Real life is very busy though, would say crazy busy. The older I get the busier it gets  ??? it should have started to reverse by now!  ;D

Tinkering time is very marginal nowadays but will try to squeeze in a look at the wattOS live session as a minimum. Using BunsenLabs since forever it feels like, with some very occasional dibble dabble with a couple of other Debian derivatives. If not for other engagements get too much in the way I will certainly check in on you guys here occasionally.

Keep it up and stay  8)

Welcome back!  8)

I nearly fell off the chair when I saw the news. Really cool to see wattOS back on it´s feet again.  :)

SharpBang (♯!) is a live ISO image that can be used to install a pre-configured Openbox/Tint2 desktop running on Debian stable.

Comes as both 64 and 32bit. Homepage with download here;

Edit 07.01.2023; SharpBang is disbanded.

wattOS R10 / Re: Download link for watt or microwatt R10?

Hello mr_gg :)

No, this distro is not dead, but is at the least in a state of "in between developing cycles", or you could just say momentary coma. ;)

See link for further information; http://planetwatt.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1000.60 from post #61.

You do realize that the R10 is starting to get old, since it is based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Still ok since it is a LTS release, but personally I think it would be better to find something else. Hopefully where there are more activity going on. :)

About the downloads, sorry I can not help you there. Best of luck further down your Linux path. ;)

First of all, nice to hear from you biffster, and that things are good.  8)

I still love minimalism, and run i3 window manager and build things by scratch.

Second, why not this? A minimal i3 release, based on LTS, with a minimal setup that you would like to find yourself if you should download an iso and install it.

Leave the rest to the user. Installations of applications, alternative WM or DE and configurations. That opens up for discussions in the forum, and there would probably be very little to maintain in the base that you create. Not much work after the release! ;D

Plus the users can enjoy tinkering if they want to, and hopefully learn a trick or three. The important thing here is that you do what is right for you, and something that you can live with and be proud of.

Just me blazing away as usual.  ::)

I went to see the Distrowatch page and it says WattOS OS dorment. So what is going on?

Only biffster can answer that. But dorment means, and this is a direct quote from Distrowatch;

"A distribution which has not put out a new release in two or more years is marked as being Dormant in our database. The distribution may still be worked on, but has not published any new stable releases. When a dormant distribution publishes a new stable release it is then marked as being Active. A project may also be marked as dormant if it no longer plans to put out future releases, ie planned inactivity, while older releases are maintained."
