You're not giving us false hope just to shut us up art you Biff?
haha... just kidding.

Sorry if this comment comes up in the wrong box or watever... still learning to use forum... and linux

i won't repeat what others have said, especially on the performance aspect.  That's a main thing in my opinion   i got to know of i3 and love it from wattos, my netbook wor%s much better with it than other WM.  i hope that will stay.  my opinion given :)   i shifted from wattos to use antix and install i3, but it doesn't have the same 'smoothness' or integration as with wattos - maybe coz i'm jjust a newbi.  :)      i shifted coz of the whole spectre thingy.... maybe again coz i don't really know what i'm doing so got scared and wanted something with patched kernel. . now eagerly await v11.

My sincere thanks to all who made wattos possible.

Feedback and Suggestions / website refresh v2 coming soon.
« on: April 10, 2018, 07:46:32 AM »
Just saw a topic on website refresh v2 in the News And Announcements category.  Just wondering if there is a need for a https version?
Maybe i'm a bit jumpy (and unnecessarily) because i don't know much about security, for when firefox tells me that my connection is not secure during login.   :-\
Can someone enlighten me please?

Lovely.  Makes me want to jump from Microwatt  ;D
However, need to keep as 'lean' as possible on my old netbook.

I guess with Meltdown and Spectre, things might get delayed further?
Anyway, in general, I rather wait for a more 'solid' version - than have something less 'solid' because of needing to have it out by a certian date.  But that's just my (newbie) opinion.   It is probably a 'chicken and egg' situation, that.  I can only leave it to the experts...  : )

wattOS R10 / Re: microwatt R10 - how do i install updates?
« on: November 29, 2016, 03:20:12 AM »
thanks blaze!  I've tried many distros and have never been as happy with them as microwatt, though mainly due to performance but really the whole package - as i've only got a tiny EeePC Seashell netbook. it's a keeper for me - a big thank you to biff and the whole team.
still new and learning... the most familair aspect of gnu/linux is installation...  :-[

and thanks for your reply to my post.   :)

wattOS R10 / microwatt R10 - how do i install updates?
« on: November 27, 2016, 02:18:17 PM »
Hi.
i am wondering about updates - a number of other distros have an updater software which shows a notification if there are updates available to install, and then when launched will show a list of updates.  Hope that makes sense?
What is the equivalent (or similar) of that in wattos, or i guess pretty much any other (debian based) distros?  Is it the same thing as doing a apt-get upgrade?  Or the "Mark All Upgrades" in synaptic?  Or in synaptic, "Status" and "Installed (upgradable)" maybe?
I like the idea how the list of updates are also categorised, like critical security, recommended, etc.  That way i can just update the most important first in case i don't have time to do all at that moment.
