Title: [SOLVED] Changing the wallpaper in wattOS
Post by: shijimi on October 22, 2015, 10:56:50 PM
Hi all,

I'm using the wattOS R9 Microwatt version, and I'm totally in love with it!
I want to change the desktop background wallpaper, but I have no idea how to do it in this version of wattOS.

Does anyone have any clue to do it?

P.S. I've tried typing ' gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.background picture-uri "file:///filename" ' in the terminal, but I had no success :(

Thanks in advance!!

Welcome aboard. Right click on the desktop. Select desktop preferences.

Thanks for your reply!

However, I'm using the Microwatt version with i3 window manager, so I can't right click the desktop...

Any other ways?

Can't go into details atm as on phone typing this but looking possible install of nitrogen or feh could help as wallpaper is done I believe by default in X11. Variety could be another program.  I'll post again when I get back to my main pc

Hello blaze and cheiron

Thanks for replying to my post!
The link blaze posted really helped.
I was able to successfully change the desktop image by typing
"feh --bg-scale /path/to/image.file"
in my .fehbg file, and by also changing the
"exec --no-startup-id feh --bg-scale /path/to/image"
in my .i3/config file.

Thank you all for helping me!!
