Hi,
I am a novice in Linux so forgive me for my ignorance.
I need to install ZTE MF627 modem but there is no official Linux driver for it.
What I've found is, that it needs Modeswitch to work but I don't know how to install it. There is some instruction here http://www.draisberghof.de/usb_modeswitch/ but I don't fully get it. There is to many ..if ..options.
What should I do in some relatively simple steps?
or maybe there is any other way to get this modem to work?

I have found something like
sudo apt-get update && apt-get install usb-modeswitch
but when I run it, I get errors at the end
E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (13: Permission denied)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), are you root?
What should I do?

Forget problem.
Actually after some investigation, I've found, that I do not have to install anything :) Modem works out of the box just doesn't pop up with install dialog as it is said on other websites.
