Title: Screen goes blank on HP Compaq 6720s
Post by: teedee on July 19, 2015, 07:22:04 AM
I run R9 LXDE 32b on my HP Compaq 6720s and occasionally screen goes blank on browsers.
It happens on Firefox and Chrome as well though on different websites.
It doesn't happen on my Acer laptop so I suspect a driver problem.
What can I do about it?

I installed standard Ubuntu 14.04.2 distribution and it does the same :(

After some investigation, I've found possible reason. Apparently it is caused by old Intel Graphics chipset. New SNA acceleration doesn't work and it should be downgraded to the old UXA method.

Unfortunately, the way shown in this thread, dosen't work for me http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2182033 (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2182033)

What can I do?

Hi there....any luck on this? Can you post your xorg? I am not sure if I have the chipset to test, but I can give it a go.
