Linux programs/apps for every day basic PC usage
« on: February 14, 2018, 12:04:30 AM »
Hello all,

If this topic has already been covered, I apologize.

I am new in Linux world, and I like the minimalism approach of WattOS,
but I would like an advice from experienced Linux user:
What programs should I install so I could cover basic PC usage (multimedia, office, basic pictures editing...)
but at the same time I would like that WattOS stays lightweight OS as it was meant to be.

Thanks in advance.

@Markko, simplest way is probably to just Google for ten best "Linux type of application", and try out what seems cool. In the end it is all up to personal preferences. With time you will find out what works best for you. :)

@Blaze, AMEN we all have what we prefer! I use WPS Office, but I had to use the older version on R10 (and I keep a copy of the symbol fonts if anyone needs them). I prefer Image Viewer (gpicview) over gthumb. I use both Brasero and Xfburn (to burn media to disk). I use VLC, Gimp, VirtualBox, and I installed a no ram use desktop wallpaper changer.
