Hi leenie

Thank a lot for the info. I installed Libre Office as per your instructions and everything went perfect.

Hi Blaze and thanks for the welcome. Lxde works very well. This ee PC is still getting quite warm so If I was using this machine just on my own I'd probably go with microwatt still.

I will probaly have many more questions along the way, but I'll make sure to browse the forum first of alll.

Cheers!

Hi All

A warm greeting from Finland to the WattOS community.

I am a Swede who moved to Finland a year ago. Since this is the birthplace of Linus Torvalds I suppose I should pay tribute by getting to learn and use Linux.

I have only tried Zorin OS 9 (An beginner friendly Ubuntu fork )on my regular laptop before.

Right now I have installed WattOS r-10 LXDE on my girlfriend's old Eee Pc just to save it from the scrapheap, and mostly for the fun.

Now I would like to install Libre Office for the first time. In Zorin Libre Office came preinstalled, and I understand in Watt OS this might get complicated for me.

The Libre Office site has a long detailed page about linux installs

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Install/Linux

The page also says "For normal everyday users we strongly advise that you use your distribution's installation processes, especially those with graphical interfaces. Check your distribution's help for how to do this."

I am new to the tools in wattOS (Zorin Os uses a software center)  Could someone give me a tip on installing Libre Office please?
