Title: R9 End of Life? (SOLVED)

(I also posted this in the R9 section.)  My hardware won't work on a kernel newer than 4.2.x, so I am thinking of installing this.  I can't find any information on how long it will be supported or receive security updates, though my assumption is until early 2019, like Trusty.  I would like to know for certain, however.  Anyone able to say so with authority?  Thanks.

Thanks for the confirmation (in the R9 section).  I will give it a try.
