Title: Password Reset/Recovery
Post by: clog on November 05, 2014, 03:45:06 AM
I have a IBM Thinkpad with WattOS installed a four months back using the version off the site at that time and have now forgotten the login password.  The CDROM is busted but the usb ports work.  Can anyone provide steps to reset the login password? Many thanks.

Thanks for the reply; however this procedure from the link provided, doesn't work. Here are the steps I that failed for me:
#5. Use the Arrow keys to highlight the line that begins with kernel and press the e key.
- There was no line starting with the word "kernel".
#6. Go to the very end of the line and add rw init=/bin/bash
- I added "rw init=/bin/bash" to the last line (without quotes) but the next screen after the boot process echoed "error: unknown command rw".  It then went to the regular login screen.
What am I missing?
