    3 tips for SSD drives.

     

    - Format the drive with ext2

    - Add 'noatime' to /etc/fstab

    UUID=the-UUID-of-my-root-partition    /         ext2    noatime,errors=remount-ro 0       1

    - Change IO scheduler

    Open /etc/default/grub as root
    Find the line: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=”quiet splash”
    Change it to: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=”elevator=noop quiet splash”
    save and exit.
    Run update-grub
    Reboot
